BIO

I am a lecturer in Japanese on the teaching intensive pathway in the School of Languages and Cultures. I have a deep passion for second/additional language learning and teaching and have been teaching the Japanese language at the university for over two decades. My expertise lies in innovative teaching methodologies and education, which I integrate into my dynamic classroom environment. Currently, I am pursuing PhD research focused on Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) and its classroom implementation. My interests extend to broader educational themes, including learner identity and teachers' professional development. I am dedicated to exploring a wide range of pedagogical approaches, including flipped classrooms, workshop-style learning, digital platforms, and fostering community involvement and creation, ensuring an engaging and comprehensive learning experience for my students.
