TEACHING INTERESTS

Atie is awarded an Advance HE Senior Fellowship via the University’s Te Arawai Ako programme. Fellowship demonstrates personal and institutional commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education.

Atie was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2020, demonstrating a reflective and evidence-based approach to her own teaching practice and its impact on student learning, meeting the requirements of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) for the higher education sector. Her teaching was assessed across the five HEA activity areas: designing and planning learning activities; teaching and supporting learning; assessing and providing feedback to learners; developing effective learning environments and approaches to student support; and engaging in ongoing professional and pedagogical development.

She is now a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) through Advance HE, awarded in 2025 in recognition of a sustained and substantial record of leadership in learning and teaching. Senior Fellowship demonstrates her wider influence beyond her direct teaching, including programme-level curriculum leadership and the design and implementation of an innovative gamified teaching tool that advances inclusive and impactful learning experiences.
