BIO
My experience ranges from fundamental materials science research through to applied superconductivity. My current focus is R+D of space-bound superconducting devices - like the superconducting flux pump that energizes the Heki HTS magnet heading to the JEM module on the international space station. Uptake of superconducting technology in space also requires accurate testing of them in simulated space environments in the laboratory, and so that is another focus of my work. I always enjoy discussing science and ideas.
