Dr. Hatch joined Victoria University of Wellington – Te Herenga Waka – in 2024. He received a PhD in Psychology from the University of Otago in 2016. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the Dunedin School of Medicine he was funded under a NIH T-32 grant to complete the autism research training programme at the MIND Institute, University of California, Davis. He has also held senior research roles within government.
Dr. Hatch is passionate about promoting inclusive and supportive environments for all children. His work centres on exploring the early developmental trajectories of individuals with diverse neurological profiles. Dr. Hatch seeks to deepen our understanding of the multifaceted nature of child development and to identify ways of optimizing social, emotional and cognitive growth in ways that matter.
