RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Quin's research investigates the mechanisms underpinning immune aging, with a particular focus on how the gut microbiome shapes haematopoiesis and the epigenome over the life course. A core theme of her work is clonal haematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP), an age-related condition in which somatic mutations drive clonal expansion of blood cells and heighten susceptibility to myeloid neoplasms, respiratory infection, and broader frailty. By integrating microbiome profiling, multi-omics, and gnotobiotic models, Dr. Quin's laboratory aims to define how microbial and epigenetic signals converge to accelerate — or protect against — immune decline, with the ultimate goal of identifying strategies to extend healthy immune function and reduce age-related disease risk.
Aging is inevitable. Age-related disease doesn't have to be.
