BIO

I research translation, adaptation and contemporary literature.

In particular, I’m interested in representations of contemporary economics in fiction (and other creative forms), global circulation of the Surrealist and Négritude movements and nostalgia.

I have published the first English-language translation of Haitian poet Coutechève Lavoie Aupont, winner of the Prix René Philoctète and Prix Dominique Batraville (Taking Leave, Ruptures 2021). I have also published translations of uncollected poems by Mário de Sá-Carneiro and Nguyễn Trọng Hiệp’s collection “Paris, capitale de la France / 大法國玻璃都城襍詠,” as well as articles on francophone and lusophone poetry. I teach in the programmes of French and Intercultural Communication at Te Herenga Waka / Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, as well as in our partner programme at the Communications University of Zhejiang in Hangzhou, China.
