BIO

I am a senior lecturer in geoscience at Victoria University of Wellington. My research and teaching interests relate to understanding sedimentary processes in marine and terrestrial environments, glaciated landscapes, Antarctica and geo education. I have a long association with Antarctica, participating in over a dozen research expeditions including five seasons on the international Cape Roberts, ANDRILL and SWAIS2C drilling projects, as well as smaller field-based expeditions. Recent research has focussed on polar dust transport and impact, ice shelf grounding line sedimentology and developing digital tools for geoscience education. I am the Earth Science editor for the multidisciplinary international journal Antarctic Science.
