Ko Francis Kewene tōku ingoa, nō Waikato, Maniapoto, me Ingarani ahau. Nō Aotearoa ahau. Francis grew up in Te Wai Pounamu, the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand, did her early tertiary training in Wellington, and has worked in Ōtepoti/Dunedin in Public Health before moving to Wellington in July 2021. ​Francis aka Fran, brings her experiences as a Māori health promoter, health protection officer, and theatre deviser to her teaching practice, and research.​ Fran’s work is located within her identity as a colonised – Māori/British –wāhine, exploring cultural safety, Indigenous theatre-based research methodologies, and autism.​
