BIO
Dr Gillian McCarthy is a design researcher who focuses on digital accessibility, inclusive design pedagogies, and user experience design in healthcare settings. She is recognised by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) as a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) and also holds a PhD in Design Innovation from Te Herenga Waka — Victoria University, a BCApSc Hons in Design Studies, and BA in Psychology from the University of Otago. Her research investigates how we can raise awareness of digital accessibility and implement it more effectively within New Zealand organisations and tertiary design education.
