My main research field at present is environmental monitoring, particularly of freshwater streams and rivers. Since 2021 I've been the primary maintainer of the Open Source Data Recorder for Environmental Monitoring (OSDREM) project, which seeks to provide a high-capability IoT data recorder for improved density and frequency of environmental measurements.

I have taught several courses in the School, including Engineering Project Management, Safety Critical System and Digital Electronics. At present I deliver a course in DevOps, which represents a second research interest. I follow DevOps practices in the OSDREM project, not only for the embedded code but also applying the same practices to digital electronics.
