My research includes ecological modelling, freshwater bioassessment, environmental policy development, biophysical limits to growth and the role of energy in society. My research is also into the influence of vested interests on environmental policy, through lobbying, political appointments and funding of research to deny industry culpability in environmental harm. I also use my research to achieve change through providing written evidence for high court, environment court and Waitangi Tribunal cases.
