Olayinka (Yinka) Moses is an accounting academic and professional specialising in sustainable financial management strategy and accounting technologies at the Wellington School of Business and Government, Victoria University of Wellington. His research sits at the intersection of managerial accountability and sustainability reporting, with a particular focus on how organisations design, implement, and govern forward looking financial management practices in response to evolving regulatory and societal expectations.

Yinka’s scholarship is widely published in leading international journals, including Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Financial Accountability & Management, Business Strategy and the Environment, Accounting and Finance, Journal of Contemporary Accounting & Economics, and the Pacific Basin Finance Journal, among others. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Meditari Accountancy Research, Advances in Environmental Accounting & Management, The Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies, and for the Accounting, Corporate Governance and Business Ethics section of Cogent Business & Management. He also sits on the editorial boards of several prominent accounting and interdisciplinary journals.

Yinka plays an active role in shaping professional and policy oriented debates on sustainability and corporate reporting in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia, and currently serves as Chair of the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee of CPA Australia (New Zealand Division). In this role, he leads initiatives aimed at strengthening the profession’s capability to respond to emerging challenges in sustainability reporting, assurance, and digital transformation. He also chairs the Corporate Reporting Awards Assessment Team of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Yinka is the President of the African Accounting and Finance Association for the 2025–2027 term and serves as Vice President at Large of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research. Through these leadership roles, he contributes to shaping international conversations on accounting education, research agendas, and professional development, with a strong emphasis on accountability and inclusive knowledge production. He also holds an appointment as Professor Extraordinarius in the College of Accounting Sciences at the University of South Africa.

His academic and professional contributions have been recognised through numerous competitive grants, awards, and honours. Yinka has secured several internal and external contestable research grants and is the inaugural recipient of the Craig Buck Andrews Scholarship in Financial Reporting and Financial Management, established by the late Craig Buck Andrews of the World Bank to support research in natural resource financial management. Additional recognitions include the Early Career Researcher Best Paper Prize in Accounting, the R W Steele Scholarship in Accounting, the Philip Brown AFAANZ Doctoral Education Network Scholarship, the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Scholarship, and the Wellington International Student Excellence Award. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to student life and postgraduate development, he was awarded Life Membership of the Victoria University of Wellington Postgraduate Students’ Association.
