BIO

I am an early-career climate scientist. I earned my PhD in climate science at University of Bergen in 2021. Before joining the Antarctic Research Centre, I was a postdoctoral research scientist at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University in the City of New York.

My current research aims to understand how and why the cryosphere (e.g., Arctic sea ice, Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets) changes and interacts with the broader climate from the past to the future. I use a range of statistical and modelling tools (e.g., causal algorithms, Bayesian statistics, machine-learning methods, idealized to complex models) to improve future projections and diagnose underlying physical processes. I am also interested in how the external forcing (e.g., anthropogenic greenhouse gases, aerosols) modulates the large-scale atmospheric circulation in both hemispheres.

I am happy to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students. Feel free to contact me if you are interested.
