BIO
Robyn is Head of Programme for Midwifery and oversees the inaugural Bachelor of Midwifery. She is also leading the recently launched ‘Grow Our Own’ postgraduate nursing and midwifery education in Samoa. Professionally, Robyn is actively engaged with a number of regulatory and advisory bodies. She is a member of the New Zealand Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal (ministerial appointment renewed in 2015 for a further five years), expert clinical advisor for the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), the Health and Disability Commission (HDC) and the Coroner’s Court. She is a midwifery and academic representative on the ACC Neonatal Encephalopathy Taskforce where she leads the Fetal Heart Monitoring Working Group, and a past member of Health Workforce New Zealand (HWNZ) Midwifery External Advisory Group (MEAG). Robyn became a Justice of the Peace in March 2018.
Locally, Robyn is active in the Wellington region of the New Zealand College of Midwives (NZCOM), and with the industry as a member of the Capital & Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) Women's Health Service Clinical Audit and Research Committee.
Robyn is a peer reviewer for journals: Midwifery; BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth; European Journal of Midwifery; Women and Birth and New Zealand College of Midwives Journal, and assistant editor of the International Journal of Childbirth. She has also been a peer reviewer for the scientific committee of ICM triennial congress since 2007.

1. New Zealand maternity and midwifery services and the Covid-19 response: a modified netnography of practitioner’s collaborations and logistical arrangements. (Co-PI with Prof Susan Crowther, AUT))
2. The use of continuous fetal monitoring technologies that enable mobility in labour for women with
complex pregnancies: A survey of Australian and New Zealand hospitals (PI Deborah Fox, UTS)
3. Trans Abdominal Monitoring (TAM): feasibility study (RCT) (PI Deborah Fox)
4. Intermittent auscultation as fetal monitoring during childbirth: accuracy, interrater agreement and exploring traditional technology and skills.(PI Ellen Blix, OsloMet, Norway)
5. Improving health and wellbeing through patient-centred care: Lead maternity care service providers’ online communication. (PI Jayne Krisjanous)
6. Examining Maternal Infant Attachment within the new communication environment (Krisjanous, J. & Maude, R)
7. International perspectives on intermittent auscultation of the fetal heart(PI Robyn Maude)
