BIO
Dr Rosie Scott is a designer, educator, and creative‑practice researcher based in Aotearoa New Zealand. She works in Design for Social Innovation, with research and teaching focused on design as a critical practice of care across creative practice, socially engaged design, and design education.
Rosie's work examines how care operates in design as a relational and power‑laden practice, with particular attention to disability, gender, justice, and ethical responsibility within design processes and learning environments. Rosie has taught in Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, and the United States, and previously held the role of Program Director of the MFA Interior Design at Parsons School of Design, New York. Her research and teaching integrate creative practice, community engagement, and research‑led pedagogy.
Rosie is Pakeha and Tangata Tiriti, with ties to Ireland.
