BIO

Dr Shen Chong is a Senior Scientist at the Robinson Research Institute, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand (NZ). He has a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Auckland (NZ) and had postdoctoral experience at Industrial Research Limited (NZ) and University of Tsukuba, Japan. He has published work in both superconductivity and magnetism, functional properties of nano-materials, and surface chemical reactions. He is currently an Associate Investigator in the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (NZ) and a Principal Investigator in a New Zealand Marsden Fund program. Dr Chong has expertise in characterization the functional properties of nanoparticles including their magnetic properties at high magnetic fields. He also has experience in conducting magnetic sensors validation studies for commercial clients using New Zealand's only high-field magnetic and physical property measurement systems.
