Simon Twose is an architect and Associate Professor at the Te Kura Waihanga School of Architecture, Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington. He has sustained over 30 years of research through creative practice, spanning architecture, art and academic theorisation. His work focuses on drawing, particularly in the territories between art and architecture practices. He researches through creative works, which have transitioned from traditional drawing to built projects to spatio-temporal drawing installations, composed of a mix of physical and digital media. These inform critical reflections on creative architectural practice. Twose has published and exhibited widely, including the Adam Art Gallery Te Pataka Toi, invited contributions to five Venice Architecture Biennales, PQ15, the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, and Works + Words Biennale 2026, Aarhus. The most recent series, Expanded Drawing, explores space sketched by multiple entities: humans, matter, planetary phenomena, and digital intelligences.
