BIO

Before joining Victoria University of Wellington in 1999, Steve taught at Drake University (1993–94) and the University of Northern Iowa (1994–95). In 1996–97 he was a Visiting Scholar at the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, Harvard University, and in 1997–98 he was a Fellow at the Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History, Harvard University.
