Taoran is a Lecturer in Industrial Design, ZZU. Passionate about teaching, having teaching experience in higher education in the UK and the US, supporting a variety of courses around design, product design and industrial design. Skilled in 2D and 3D software and platforms, including SolidWorks, Rhino, Keyshot, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, and generative AI image tools.

Taoran obtained her PhD in Design from Loughborough University, focusing on the areas of design intervention, behaviour change, young adults' dietary behaviours, and design research. Prior to this, she obtained an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a BE at Jiangnan University.

Taoran’s research explores the role of design in influencing human behaviour and addressing societal challenges. Her current research areas include Design for Behaviour Change, Design for Sustainable Behaviour, design intervention, and young adults’ dietary behaviours. Taoran is also interested in design research and the integration of academic theories and design practice.
