Katie is a lecturer in Health Psychology in Te Puna Hauora (The School of Health). Katie is interested in research that explores constructions of gender and sexuality as they relate to health and well-being, particularly in the context of education. She has a passion for critical research focused on social justice issues.

She is available to supervise research students or collaborate on research projects that include one or more of the following topics: 

• Queer and Trans communities experiences of and access to health education. 
• Sources of information for young people about sexual health and/or sexual harassment. 
• Representations of gender and sexuality within education, social media or policy, with a focus on the implications of these representations.
